Grey Partridge

The grey partridge is red-listed due to its small and localised breeding population. The European population is considered vulnerable due to significant declines in several key populations.

Formerly found in every county in Ireland, now only found in Co. Offaly where there may have been as few as twenty birds in the recent past. The decline of the grey partridge is attributed to a decline in cereal growing and the use of pesticides and herbicides.
