Green Hairstreak

The green hairstreak is a widespread but local species. It is mainly found on the edges of bogs where there are stands of gorse. Colonies also exist in a range of other habitats, including woodland clearings, dunes and flowery sea cliffs.

It is assessed as least concern in Ireland.
